(Continued from page 11)

  I am still in the middle of fan fiction. My first story received a good response. If you want to read it then click here. I have started the second one and the feedback so far is good. It's wonderful to actually have my stories read by people who don't know me and so are judging me on my writing alone.

26th September 2000

   This letter is dated the 13th September.

Many thanks for the recent submission.

Unfortunately we are unable to pursue the manuscript further.

With our lists becoming increasingly full, we're having to be very selective-and sometimes harsh- about the acquistion of new titles.

Apologies for the cursory nature of the reply but due to the amount of material received on a daily basis, it is impossible to provide any kind of analysis of the work.

I thank you, however, for allowing us to consider the proposal and for thinking of *******************.

In the meantime, I wish you well in finding a suitable publisher.

  I sometimes wonder if they are thinking something else when they send out these letters. They all wish me luck finding a publisher, but not with them. Am I being cynical?

Naaaahhhhhh.

20th October 2000

  Now this letter is interesting;

Many thanks for sending in your synopsis/manuscript. Unfortunately, *************** does not publish books of this length. May I suggest that you send it to a publisher of children's novels, where I'm sure it will be received with great interest.

  Yeah, what interest? I haven't found any yet. When I checked up on this publisher, I thought that they did publish novels. Maybe their classification needs looking at. Reading the letter in a positive way though, it looks like they did like what I sent them. Certainly the paper clip is missing.

  Remember all the songs that I wrote for T'Tenneb? Well, I decided that it was time to get some music for them. I have given copies of the poems to a couple of people in my choir who have a talent for composing. I can't wait to see what I get back.
