"Crazy Little Planet"
July 30, 2000
let's think for a minute
bout how we've all landed
on this crazy little planet called mars;
and let's praise the good things
'bout civilization,
as we cry out from behind cold bars...
later he stopped being the man he had been
before i was born, only god knows when
and now he just paces
staring at the strange faces
but sooner than later he forgot how to bend.
i wish he knew better;
i wish he could smell
the things that i sense,
and in which i dwell;
he never liked my style, anyway;
it reminded him of the future.
i think i'll continue freaking him out
with my sick-future-destined nature.
and she, oh she, during a witch hunt
let the dogs go to sniff out the villains;
good thing i was damn well hidden;
cause i never want her to know my pain,
for then my whole life would pass in vain
and i could never have respect for the rain
because after every bath she seems the same.
but she lives here, too, i can't deny that,
as much as i'd like her to move,
and so she'll continue
sucking the blood
out of every old-fashioned virtue.
but what can you do on a planet such as this?
to leave would be a sin;
there's so much to learn about what to avoid
when it comes to forming your skin.
i think i like itv
for the knowledge it spreads
and for the pain we share;
but i certainly want to leave it one day,
to leave would only be fair.
now let's praise civilization,
let's worship its fucked up ways,
let's swim on its shores, breathe in its air,
and never count the days;
for we're all stranded here
on this crazy little planet called mars;
oh how i wish to return to earth,
and forget all of these scars...
