If you will take the time to read these. I promise you'll come away with an enlightened perspective. The subjects covered affect us all on a daily basis! They're written by Andy Rooney a man who has the gift of saying so much with so few words.

I've learned....

That when you're in love, it shows.

I've learned....

That being kind is more important than being right.

I've learned....

That you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I've learned....

That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I've learned....

That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I've learned....

That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I've learned....

That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I've learned....

That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.

I've learned....

That love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've learned....

That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people more loving than I am.

I've learned....

That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

I've learned....

That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I've learned....

That life is tough, but I'm tougher.

I've learned....

That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.

I've learned....

That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I've learned....

That I wish I could have told my ___ that I loved them one more time before they passed away.

I've learned....

That one should keep their words both soft and tender, because tomorrow they may have to eat them.

I've learned....

That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I've learned....

That I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.

I've learned....

That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I've learned....

That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

The Question Is, Will I Remember These Things When The Time Comes?

In nature we find many things.

In life we pass by many faces and sometimes we don't ask any questions.

Sometimes we can see only if you let it be. Mother is spontaneous and free and does what is in her nature to do.

Love is great and wonderful and sweet, only if you let it be.

Learning all that you can, cannot be bad, especially if you live within your own hand.

All in all, life is simply and sweet and it's nice to meet others, you'll see.

To love our friends, our enemies, and all people can create happiness in slavery.

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

Two thousand one, nine eleven Five thousand plus arrive in heaven. As they pass through the gate, Thousands more appear in wait.

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

A bearded man with stovepipe hat Steps forward saying, "Let's sit, let's chat"

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

They settle down in seats of clouds A man named Martin shouts out proud, "I have a dream!" and once he did The Newcomer said, "Your dream still lives."

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

Groups of soldiers in blue and gray Others in khaki, and green then say, "We're from Bull Run, Yorktown, the Maine" The Newcomer said, "You died not in vain."

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

From a man on sticks one could hear "The only thing we have to fear." The Newcomer said, "We know the rest, trust us sir, we've passed that test."

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

"Courage doesn't hide in caves You can't bury freedom, in a grave," The Newcomers had heard this voice before A distinct Yankees twang from Hyannis port shores.

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

A silence fell within the mist Somehow the Newcomer knew that this Meant time had come for her to say What was in the hearts of the five thousand plus that day. "Back on Earth, we wrote reports, Watched our children play in sports, Worked our gardens, sang our songs, Went to church and clipped coupons.

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

The tall man in the stovepipe hat Stood and said, "don't talk like that! Look at your country, look and see You died for freedom, just like me."

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

Then, before them all appeared a scene Of rubbled streets and twisted beams, Death, destruction, smoke and dust, And people working just 'cause they must.

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

Hauling ash, lifting stones, Knee deep in hell But not alone.

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

"Look! Blackman, Whiteman, Brownman, Yellowman Side by side helping their fellow man!" So said Martin, as he watched the scene "Even from nightmares, can be born a dream."

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

Down below three firemen raised The colors high into ashen haze. The soldiers above had seen it before On Iwo Jima back in '44.

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

The man on sticks studied everything closely Then shared his perceptions on what he saw mostly, "I see pain, I see tears, I see sorrow - but I don't see fear."

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

"You left behind husbands and wives, Daughters and sons and so many lives Are suffering now because of this wrong But look very closely. You're not really gone.

-:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:-

All of those people, even those who've never met you All of their lives, they'll never forget you. Don't you see what has happened? Don't you see what you've done? You've brought them together, together as one.
