I hovered above a sea of bubbles
Bubbles floated past my arms and legs
They floated up toward the Heavens
Each bubble I kept in my hand
was not the right one I would've liked to see
and each popped after a few weeks or months
Yet, one bubble stood out among the rest
He floated rather slowly toward the sun
as if beckoning to me in a shy demeanor
As if too afraid to speak up, too afraid
to show his existence, as if for fear of
rejection or popping like the others
He floated with such grace
I was taken aback by his movement
as if he was waltzing through the air
He is much more delicate than the rest
yet he didn't pop the way the others did
He remains unharmed and untouched
He shone the sun's light
better than the other bubbles
shedding the most beautiful rainbow
He formed ovals and perfect circles
stretching himself out and long
or pulling himself in to be more round
---------------------------------------------
Ah, Bubble! You are so beautiful!
You make me feel beautiful as well
for you chose me instead of the Heavens.
Of all the bubbles to float
clumsily toward the sky, you were
the one who chose me with poise.
---------------------------------------------
When your soapy self touched my fingers
the other bubbles dispersed
and it was just you and I above the sea
You and I danced through the air
floating up and swimming down
nothing daring to hold us back
And forever we shall dance with a poise
no other could ever hold. and with each
other, we shall float above the rest

---------------------------------------------
My pretty little bubble
floating so nice in the air
beware the heat
beware harmful contact
float as you often do
dance with the others
but forget not your unique shine
