PAL is official pet to the lead in one of the more popular girl strips: 'Little Lulu'. The late Marge Buell created Lulu Moppet in 1935 as a feature for the 'Saturday Evening Post'. The mischievous character had dark ringlets for hair, black saucer-like eyes, a boyfriend named Tubby + this little white dog

'Lulu' ran until 1947 + has been successful in comic books + TV as well. Famous produced her series of theatrical cartoons, but dumped Buell at one point for their cheap imitation, Little Audrey. The strip was revived by Randy Henderson from 1961-8
