Experience

Web development
Developed interactive forms using Active Server Pages (ASP), VBScript, and JavaScript (Customer Service Direct). Developed a complex website with image maps, mouse-overs, PDFs, GIFs, and JPGs. Developed navigation, files structure, organized and attached all links. Wrote content on the main pages of the site. Added features making the site compliant with American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Over two years experience with HTML and use of HTML editors. Over one year experience developing interactive applications with ASP, VBScript, JavaScript, SQL and databases. Experience creating web graphics using Adobe Photoshop and Image Ready.
Communications and technical writing
Twelve years of professional experience developing and managing communications,
most recently for a group insurance program of 500,000 participants. Supervised the design, writing, editing, printing, and distribution of communications targeted to over eight specific audiences.
 
Twelve years of technical writing experience. Wrote and published technical manuals,
brochures, newsletters, and booklets. Content included benefits information on eligibility, insurance, flexible benefits, deferred compensation, and retirement programs.
 
Policy development and research
Extensive experience conducting legislative, legal, and policy research. Drafted recycling legislation. Developed and implemented administrative policies and legal requirements for the state of Texas group insurance program.
