She feels that contemporary poetry "can be cold and regimented. In a sense the approved contemporary poetry does not seem to prize emotion."

Her personal philosophy has resulted from "broadbased personal wanderings among many mileus to come up with (her) own solutions." So far as science is concerned, she says, "I simply follow the things that interest me on television, newspapers and radio." She likes to watch basketball and hockey, and swims, bicycles (in a leisurely manner) and hikes. She finds her life "interesting and challenging."
