Harland Ristau, Poet
A retired art teacher, Ristau lives with his wife Jean at 3955 North murray, Shorewood, WI. He was born 22 October 1924 in Milwaukee nd eventually earned a B.S. in education. He has two children, Gambit Ristau and Shelley Ristau-Brannan.
As a poet, he's been influenced, he says, by Whitman and John Cage. When asked to name his ten favorite living poets, he answered that he didn't know any. He doesn't consider either the subject matter of his poems or their technique important, nor does he feel he can answer any question about what he tries for in his poetry, or what goes on in it.
Over five hundred of his poems have gotten published over the past forty years.
