A college professor and writer with degrees from Arizona State (BA), American University (MFA), and the University of Southern Mississippi, he was born 27 February. His lean is toward poetry that is "honest, real." About contemporary poetry he says, "Most art is bad. A small amount of art is not. The small amount is worth searching for." He considers The New Yorker, The Ohio Review, TriQuarterly and The Atlantic of sufficient value to rate entries in the Comprepoetica dictionary.

Pfefferle's extra-poetic interests include music (Springsteen, Dylan, Zevon, Rickie Lee Jones) and the the major sports.

He has had poems published in a number of magazines, including.Ohio Review, Kansas Quarterly, Mississippi Review, Georgetown Review and Hootenanny.

He has one book to his credit: Plug In: the Guide to Music on the Net (Prentice Hall, May 1996) and two more due out in 1998: Writing that Matters (Prentice Hall), a writing textbook, and New Neighborhoods (Morris Publishing), which consists of poems and fiction.
