: I loved anime for a time, especially Saint Seiya (don't laugh at me please, but they all were gorgeous).
I know nothing of anime, so I'm not qualified to judge.
: : The ring is probably a significant thing, but we don't know in what context. Emeralds mean eternal life. Was that Santy's foreshadowing of events to come? Subtlely 'marking' her, as it were? Was it just because he liked her? We can't answer the question. And because we can't answer the question, we can't say if the ring and Jesse is what Santy and Maharet were arguing over.
: : I don't know enough about hand kissing and medieval court manners to go into the subject. Anybody out there willing to take up the subject to tell us how Santy might have been feeling or what he might have been thinking when he did such a medieval thing in the twentieth century to a woman he didn't know? Or the significance behind the action?
: I don't know either. I think that Santino didn't like Jesse, as a mortal to be there, so he assumed she was going to be taken by Maharet. Remember also how Maharet argued with Mael about it. I think that Maharet didn't like the meaning implied in the ring.
What an interesting twist! I never really considered that. I don't think that Santino cared one way or the other about Jesse. He might have even liked her. I guess the question boils down to how Santino felt about creating new vampires. If the ring really did symbolize eternal life, then I would imagine he was not against the creation of new fledglings, but he did realize that Jesse would most likely end up as one.
Jesse does say that all these people seemed to find her interesting (156), and that does include Santino and Eric in the list.
And yes, it does seem as though that is something Maharet would do, take away the ring because of *that* meaning behind it. And she did pretty much stop Mael from bringing Jesse across, or at the very least drinking her blood, before Jesse left the first time. Now it makes sense asd to why she would take away the ring. The same might be said for Mael's bracelet.
: : Sorry it took me so long to respond to this. Research and Michel's letter sopped up all my time this weekend. And I think I even covered everything. If not, point it out and the song shall go on. *g* Until next time, LP.
: Never mind. We agree in many things now.
Finally! *grin* It only took how many posts?
:Maybe this will end soon?
Unless somebody jumps in here real quick it looks like the thread is going to come to an end. (Hey anybody, feel free to nitpick previous posts! Or point out something we missed (good luck).*g*)
:We could begin another one (grin)
So what's this one going to be on? You said Louis earlier. Anything specific? (Little Fishes! Can you believe how this all started out with the simple question of why were A and S playing chess, and the even more simple question of who won the game!)
Until the next post, LP, forever the Guardian of Santino-ness.
