My Favorite Movies
I thought that perhaps we could go into a few of my all-time
favorite movies and why they are my favorites. So let us begin, shall
we.
Animal House - The greatest college flick
of all time, and one of the funniest movies ever made. I pity you if
you have never seen this film. This movie made John Belushi a star.
(Well, it did!) Go rent it now, or better yet, follow the link above
to buy the film for yourself.
The Godfather Trilogy - The greatest mob
movies ever made (at least the first two were. The third..., well maybe
not.) Look at the actors in these films: Brando, Pacino, De Niro, Duvall.
Every mob movie made before or since pales in comparison to first Godfather
film. It is simply one of those films every person must see, plain and
simple.
The Indiana Jones Trilogy - I wanted to be
an archeologist after seeing Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, that's
how much I loved these movies. Although I never actually became one.
These films sparked my and my friend Rob's interest in archeology. And
besides, they're chock full of adventure, excitment, intrigue, betrayal,
sex (hey Indy always gets the girl!) and Sean Connery! James Bond is
Indy's dad! Indy Rules, Dammit! Plus there's serious talk about a fourth
movie. If there's a God, it will happen. We need Indy back, dammit!
The Rocky Horror Picture Show - I saw this
picture one Halloween night a few years ago, and I couldn't stop thinking
about how wonderfully wierd and hilarious this film is. It's the best
comedy, sci-fi, horror musical ever made. It's the first truly interactive
film. Talk back to the actors. Throw things at the screen. Have fun,
and Don't Dream It, Be It! The film has definitely pulled me into the
cult, though I haven't seen it in a theater yet. (No one 'round here
shows it!)
Star Wars Saga - My
Favorite Movies of All Time! (and I don't care what you have
to say about it.) I even liked Episode 1. I even liked Jar Jar Binks. Gotta
problem with that? Well, I really don't give a s**t. Anyway, the movies
totally rock, and they laid the groundwork for every special effects
blockbuster since. Without "Star Wars", there would be no
James Cameron, no The Matrix, no nothin'. If you've never seen them...
where the f**k have you been?
Monty
Python and the Holy Grail - Alright, I have to say it! Monty
Python is the funniest thing I have ever, EVVVVVVEEEEERRRRRRR, seen
in my life. And this film is the best of the best. I quote this film
ad nauseum. If you haven't seen this film, I truly feel sorry for you.
It's almost, nay it is, required viewing. I order you to see it, or
I shall taunt you a second time. (I told you I quote this movie ad nauseum.)
Pulp Fiction - I hadn't really seen the film until
I picked up the Miramax Collector's Edition DVD. After having seen the
film, I can truly say that all the hype surrounding this film as absolutely
true. It is one of the top ten films of the 1990's.
