My Favorite Music
Just like with the movies section, we'll dive into some
of my favorite musicians, groups, and albums, and why I like them. (In
no particular order, so don't start screaming at me)
Bob
Dylan - Quite simply, the most influential artist there has been
in the past 50 years. Everybody has been influenced by Bob Dylan. From
the Beatles, to the Stones, to the present day. Before Dylan, rock 'n'
roll was purely pop. Bob Dylan gave rock music a voice, a brain, and
a conscience. Without Bob Dylan, music would not have been the vehicle
for change that it has become over the past 35 years.
Metallica - The greatest heavy metal/hard rock band around today.
Nobody else out there right now has done it as long or as well as Metallica.
These guys love what they do and it shows. Their fans are the most hardcore
fans of any act in the business, and the band respects that.(except
for that Napster business, but that's for another time) Plain and Simple,
they're the best in the business.
Dwight Yoakam - I know what you're saying. "You listen to
country?!" Well, let me tell you something, pal. Dwight Yoakam
does not sing modern country music, because modern country music is
nothing more than pop music sung by hillbillies in hats. That's not
his thing. He sings honest, western music with a hint of rock in it.
Besides, he's not that bad an actor.
The Beatles - Simply the greatest
rock'n'roll band, EVER! To steal a line from Bret Hart, they are "The
best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be."
Backstreet Boys, not a chance! N*Sync, fahgeddaboutit! Take how big
both those groups are, put 'em together, and that's only HALF as big
as the Beatles were. How else do you explain why, 30 years after they
broke up, they have the #1 album in the country.
The Doors
The Who
Led Zeppelin
These artists are some of the the greatest of all time.
You didn't know that? What are you? Some kind of mindless, TRL-watching,
pop puppet? Just take a listen, moron, and expand your musical horizons.
These band will still be listened to when the world has forgotten all
about those boy bands whose names shall NEVER be mentioned on this site.
