This class is tops -- yes, tops in everything: in scholastic standing, in extra-curricular activities, in class cooperation. And why should it not be? After all, it is the top section of the third year. That's right, it's the Azucena class.
Meet Flora Kuykendall, the class president. Flora is a very active leader, and hard though it is, she, together with secretary Myrna Lopez, manages to keep full control of the class during class meetings and free periods. Myrna is also first when it comes to scholastic standing. Lovely Liz Plana comes into this group. Like Flora and Myrna, she has sky-high grades. And just take a look at that long line of boys after her heart. Treasurer Mabini Pablo is perhaps the most efficient one in the whole school, if we may say so. Proof of this is that he is also the Secretary-Treasurer of the Student Council. Vice-President Jerry Barican is probably the laziest of all the officers: he does absolutely nothing. But do not misunderstand us, he is very active in the Student Council. In fact, he is the Vice-President there and unlike his position in class, that one really requires a lot of work. Often seen with him are Bobby Sayson and Butch Garcia, two persons with the most infectious sense of humor you can think of. The three of them do make an excellent group, indeed.
There is a second group that attracts the members in it for a very special reason. They are the Math geniuses. This exclusive group is composed of Gary Ang, Cesar Gopez, and Teodoro Bernardino.
And the seemingly quiet ones? In this category are George Aseniero, Cesar Almazan, Roberto Reyes, Casimiro Pagsanghan, Eulalio Fernandez and Antonio Cortes. Quite a big group. But remember we said seemingly quiet ones. Watch out for they have their own pranks to boot.
Let us pass on to the girls. Perpy Barracoso is the one with tantalizing eyes. Letty Pascual and Lulu Belarmino often share secrets and go with Perpy. Fe Rivadelo and Norma Sarino arre two girls who are always ready to answer the teacher's question with a smile. Aurora Brazal, Judy Florendo and Edita Tan are the "Silent waters run deep" type. They seldom make any noise but take a good look at their marks.
And now, meet the laughingest group
of the class -- the Jesters (Do you remember the most frustrated basketball
team? That's them! There are nine of them in this group : Ray Dan, Ernie
Espiritu, Samuel de Jesus, Dewes Lim, Bobby del Pilar, Emmanuel Manlapig,
Lawrence Tumaneng, Totoy Singson and Mabini Pablo. Just try being with
them for a while and you will surely explode with laughter.
We are left with only four more males.
First is Mariano Acosta, the saintliest of them all -- he wants to become
a priest. Jose Congson and Armando de la Cruz are two of our brainiest,
and how they can use those coconuts! Last but certainly not the least (except
in size) is Guillie Lazaro who gets along fine with everyone.
Now for our class adviser. It is because of her that the class ticks the way it does and remains tops. She encourages us to study harder, she helps us in our difficulties and she even shares our laughter. Our inspiration is none other than Mrs. Lilia Rabago.
That, in a nutshell is the Azucena class and what more can one ask for: a talented and happy group with a loving adviser.
