This was published in the Christmas issue of 'The Scroll'.
On hand to greet you is our class president Jaime Gonzales. We call him Jimmy for short. He is also a second lieutenant in the PMT organization : leader of the model platoon. The gentleman by his side is Ericson Marquez. Besides being Jimmy's assistant in class, Eric is the executive officer of the PMT organization and an artist, too.
We have two efficient secretaries by the way. They are Milagros Astorga, recording secretary, and Florante Aytona, roving secretary. Florante is a fine secretary but he is also quita an artist. Yuo'll find Mila different though, she is the reserved type. She has a beautiful nickname but forbids the use of it.
Our treasurer Deborah Ledesma is just around.he's hard to find sometimes. Not that she's shy, she just loves to hide from someone special.
The trouble-breakers are Edward Chua and Horacio Arandela. You may call them sergeants-at-arms if you like. Edward is a PMT sergeant and Horacio is an officer of the Explorers' Post 42. That proves how the PMT organization and scouts can work together.
Well, there they are. Officers all.
Now you meet the other lilies.
As you enter the room, a group of frivolous ladies catches your attention. Tallest in the group is Amaryllis Ilog, who wears the Beatle hairdo.Others in the group are Rosita Santiago, wilma Guerrero and Brenda Macapanpan. Rosita is a bespectacled young lady. She is a versatile dancer. Wilma is the nervous type. she just can't help worrying whenever she is late. If you are a connoisseur of cakes, you have to meet Brenda. She bakes well and is a wizard of mathematics too. This gregarious quartet never lets a day pass without sharing secrets newly uncovered, secrets you would not wish to know.
Bedimpled young lady at the other side is Loida Hipolito. She's the only long-haired lass in the class. Loida has a large collection of ribbons, that you won't be able to guess what she will use next.
Turning to the other side of the room, we have a jolly group composed of Evelyn Curiano, Ruth Sarmenta, Josephine Sabalvaro, Resurreccion Sulit, Maria Paz Tagle, Aurora Tonson and Maria Rosario Victorino. This is the biggest group in the class. Evelyn is a soft-spoken young lady though always on the go. Jojo, Paz, Res and Rose are tops in impersonating VIP's. Aurora and Ruth are the two girls who join in some interesting huddle about things we know not what.
Where there's music is not always fun. That's when you hear from the make-believe Beatles. When Zenaida Pablo, Leticia Perez and Gloria Taccad sing Beatles style they make a blending of notes and noise. Well, that's how the Beatles sing anyway.
If you would be a little more patient with us, there are a few more gentlemen you could get acquainted with.
Looking straight to where our teachers sit, you will see a group of fine young fellows. Among them is Amormio Cillan, an excellent pianist. Of course, we also have two of a few known guitarists hereabout -- Sixto Salumbides and Noel Plana. Let's not mind how they compare in size, though.
You will hear a lot of talking when you see Filomeno Negado, Kagitingan Garcia and Frnacis Paco. This trio has a string of memories about movies.
Talking about inclinations towards things other than fun, we have one good specimen in Francisco Dy III. He's one fine gentleman who has physics at heart besides being in one lily's heart.
And here are some who deserve special mentions. Oscar Montalban, class declaimer, Franklin Mangonon, our tall, dark and handsome sergeant, Caridad Garcia, Caridad Albaladejo, Clifton Ganay, Froilan Florentino and Francisco Pascual are our shy toys. But we know them to be energetic and conscientious.
Pardon me, but we seemed to have missed Felicidad Prudente, this year's society editor. Felice is also president of the Students' Theatre and the newly organized UPCYM. She's that young lady with a bright future to look up to.
Well, if we have learned and covered a lot of fine ladies and gentlemen, it's because out adviser is one competent lady, Mrs. Edna Victorino. Under her guidance we have learned a lot of good things to remember when we finally pass through the portals of the U.P. Prep. School.
Can you still recall these? I am dying to find out what Mila's beautiful nickname is.
