Ditto for us here in Los Angeles!

Hilton  - who is on a business trip from Barlett, Illinois.
maybe for a split second I didn't, but the sparkle in her eyes are very much
in place!  Trust me the sparkle was not only in her eyes... her neck, fingers
and ears were dazzling as well if you get my drift!

Noel has shown off his homestead spaces on the web to our guest wala pa ring
ibang dumadating - and that really takes time!  Nag show and tell naman ako
nang aking China trip album dahil pupunta sila Jojo and Rudy this summer sa
Beijing.

Finally though, eto na ang isang tropa - Hector and dancing partner Verne in
a very summery top with cut out flowers (she's really lean and put together
right! inggit ako!).  They graciously picked up our other guests - Ruth
Monserrate Villareal and daughter Nellie all the way from Tustin in Orange
County.  May dala silang embotido.

pabilisan nang pagbalat! kasalukuyang filling in the troops about his Manila
We were gathered around the round table in the
gazebo and pretty soon Ceso drives in.  May dala siyang matamis na saging na
saba.  That was quite a treat, may naghanap nang crushed ice...

By this time the coals were hot and the meat hit the grill and as soon as the
bell rang for the games to begin (translation ... naluto ang pagkain) a red
car drives in and out comes Ferdie Torralba!  Marami siyang baon na patawa!
He invited Camilo's twin brothers (Ambet and Robert) but they didn't make it.
Whoever gets hold of Ferdie should hear his spill about his "stint" kuno in
producing Minnie Ripperton's hit.  Sayang at tulog yung camcorder when he was
sharing it.

tendency sa flamboyance ang isang 'yan kasi, which is very welcome and much
panyo sa kuwelyo (specifically Louie) which came in very handy when Hector
pulled his faux pas about the magic four which will certainly go down in Prep
'65 history.  Ang balita eh Louie broke into sweat and tears of laughter!  I
don't understand how Hector survived that one.

Jojo was just soaking all of this in.  We decided the last time we saw each
other was in '76 when Jomelo treated the group to Chinese dinner (I don't
even remember the dinner - it's all that anesthesia from childbirth) and then
we had cocktails at some lobby at the Hyatt on the Blvd.

Ruth took Nellie on a tour of Ferdie's "Scroll" and showed Edith's picture -
"she's the one we visited with in Stanford!"  Nellie didn't think that was
Eds in that Pygmalion get up.

Ceso and Verne got talking about their parental roles (their sons go to the
local Don Bosco) and when Ceso asked if Hector ever picked up the kids, Verne
just gives him the "are you kidding?" look.  I was duly impressed when Ceso
told us about his annual "Philippine Booth" at his kid's school where they
make pancit to raise funds, we might all take that in next year!

We had a few friends over since it is Noel's birthday on the 20th - a UP
couple, Reuben Domingo and Tita Pambid brought daughter Vera and baby Jose
and then we had Kariz Matic's boyfriend Mckay and our friends Geoff and
Beverly.  Mckay and Geoff brought some instruments in with amps and soon the
party went indoors.
Noel of course had the ceremonial candle blowing.

Nagpaalam na sila Hector and Verne dahil mag aattend pa nang ball (their
usual fare - kawawa talaga itong mag-asawang ito! panay ang good time) but as
soon as Ferdie joined the jam the house rocked and Hector had to pull a
dancing Verne out of the house!  We heard Ferdie's rendition of Jose
Feliciano's "light my fire" in Ilocano and mekeni (besang lani kamuks
ketangks - "sabi nila mukha ka raw tangke") to everyone's delight - kahit
yung hindi marunong managalog natawa!

Yes the cameras were clicking!  Perhaps we'll get down to putting all this
together after the New York trip and we'll set up a page for everyone to
enjoy.

May absentees kami, Abet was admitted to the hospital Friday morning - some
GI problem, Pearl gave me his telephone number at the hospital but he never
picked up the phone when I tried 3 different times so we could all greet him
(May procedure siguro sa banyo!)

Aida on the other hand was concerned about her car which had acted up a
couple of times in the past week but she called for directions, she never
made it!  We'll have to call her.

. . .

Good night and God Bless Class 65!
