Choices
Author: Brian Dominguez
pt. 1
Yearning for friends I fell,
deep into society's depths,
a parents worst nightmare,
sitting on their steps.
Turning to lies,
stealing to please,
I make the choices,
so get on your knees.
Violence is my Playground,
and injury my prize,
I wont think twice,
about dotting your eyes.
I fight to live,
and steal to survive,
I smoke lots of pot,
to keep me alive.
pt.2
Fear caught up me,
and turned me around,
kicked my ass,
shoved my face in the ground.
A year of deep thought,
confined to my room,
Frustration has set in,
this feels like a tomb.
That time alone,
has helped me on my way,
its time I settled down,
never again to stray.
Yearning for friends I stood,
and found my path to follow,
faced my fears buried deep inside,
and look forward to tomorrow.
Love penetrates my soul so deep,
an empty cup left to be fulfilled,
I'm standing on my own two feet,
A foundation from which I build.
I have built my self up from the ground,
over the tops of trees I see,
the light I have been searching for,
it's tall and proud, its Me.
