Heart-Strings

Heartache and heart-break
moved me to another state
a new place, a new start
no friends and a broken heart
its hard to think of where to begin
I can't afford to be hurt again
I have squandered away my self esteem
all the while living in a dream
It seems as though I am scared
and my visions of love impaired
Insecurity controls my life
distorted love has left me in strife
Acceptance is all I want
so I can shed this fictitious front.
A new face has captured my eye
Im afraid to speak to her I dont know why
Her blonde hair and blue eyes
face of an angel beauty from the skies.
But, with a mended heart and a strong will
My self esteem will begin to heal.
