MeMeMe

line break

MeMeMe was formed by Alex James, Stephen Duffy, Justin Welch, and Charlie Bloor to record a song for one of Damien Hirst's movies. Said song, Hanging Around, was released as a single on Indolent Records in 1996 with two b-sides and got into the top 20 (I believe) in the UK charts. And it's bloody good.

It's very... Alexy, in a way. I'm not sure how exactly to describe what that means... just... if the thought of Alex makes you want to stuff your head into the nearest soft object (pillow, haystack, bowl of pudding) and giggle... while simultaneously longing to play with his perfect hair... and feed him soup... or something along those lines, then maybe you understand what I mean by Alexy. And if you don't... sorry, can't help you.

Anyway, it's a great little glimpse of Alex sans Blur, and... he sings! The words to Hanging Around and the b-sides, Hollywood Wives and Tabitha's Island can be found here.

You can find out more about this great project at e.Beth's MeMeMe page, which is just way better than this one.
