I am the breeze that moves your hair,
Sweeps it softly 'cross your cheek...
So lightly, you barely know I'm there,
Although it's your attention that I seek.

I am the mist that's in the air,
Settling gently on your skin...
Laying kisses where none would dare,
Silent kisses from within.

If I raise my eyes to gaze
And your own should catch my stare,
Will I find my heart revealed?
Will you see how much I care?

Once I steeled myself to look,
Bravely looked in heaven's face;
But with all the courage that it took,
You saw only empty space.

So now what do I do...
Now you've left me scared to glance?
Will I find they're all like you?
Do I dare to take that chance?

My answer's found in remembering
A moment sweet and true
Of a time I looked without restraint
And was blessed with seeing you.

I will open my eyes again one day,
But never quite so wide.
I'll share some bits of who I am,
But never all I am inside.
