As I stand here, son above you,
in the stillness of the night.
I ask myself this question,
What gives me the right?

To put son upon this earth,
this earth so big and wide.
To think of all the problems today,
it hurts me deep inside.

You , my son, will grow up
in poverty and war.
We're all selfish people,
seems we always want more.

You, my son, will grow up,
I'll be there as much as I can.
To help you, my son, grow up,
grow up to be a man.
