I was awaken this morning by the familiar sound of chirping birds and then it struck me. What real progress have birds made over the centuries? They're still tweeting those same songs over and over that probably the first bird on earth thought up. Show some flair and ingenuity for a change, birds. Wake up to the real world and get with civilization. Start building something besides those flimsy nests of twigs. Guess what? There are all kinds of building materials out there that do a heck of a better job and you can thank us, the humans, for bothering to use our brains for a little more than spotting worm holes. How do you expect to have any real influence over the world when the most progress you've made over the past millennium is discovering telephone wires and how to line up neatly on them? And don't tell me you "rule the skies". Oh sure you can fly around, but can you get from New York to Los Angeles in 4 hours? I don't think so. But I don't know why I'm writing this because there must be billions of you in the world and not even a single one of you has bothered to learn to read. Well good luck in today's technological world because you're getting left behind in the dust.
