I think food storage manufacturers are missing a big product line. They all think plastic is the way to go. But will they consider onion skin? No. I can be standing right in front of a bin of 500 onions, picking them up and choosing a good size etc, and I don't smell a thing. I can press my nose against it and inhale deeply...nothing. Its like that little paperish onion skin can completely encase and cover all the odor….its amazing! I figure there must be some sort of ultrathin odor barrier sandwiched in the core of the paper that we can't see or reproduce with modern technology. But are they impressed?? Apparently not. Still, I won't be deterred. I figure on pitching my idea to the manufacturers of sport socks, diapers, hard aged cheese, septic tank lids, and skunk handler masks, just to name a few.
