I don’t know if I could
live the life of a pumpkin grower. They pin all their hopes and dreams
on just two major Holidays: Halloween and Thanksgiving. They have to keep
alive the premise of the jack-o-lantern as a symbol of mirth and spooky
fantasy without it becoming too hauntingly evil or the government could
pass legislation to stop its usage and there would go half their market!
Then they’d only have Thanksgiving pumpkin pies to count on. And what if
too many people become health conscious and decided to only have an apple
and coffee for Thanksgiving dessert? No, on second thought that part is
too far fetched and will never happen. But they’re skating on thin ice
with the "whimsical vs evil" jack-o-lantern thing. (if you ask me)
