I found your words very encouraging. It was especially nice to know that there were actually some nice editors out there. At the moment all I have recieved is several ambiguous "I am sorry to say we are unable to offer publication. However, please remembe that there are several other reasons besides quality of work....". In other words, maybe my manuscript did not completely stink, but they are not going to tell me that. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to spend too many hours on the web, and having two young children keeps me close to home. As an a writer at the "I want to be" stage, I sometimes find it a very isolated profession. It would be nice somedays to hear an hones opinion and receive advice that you did not have to pay for....

I was very touched by your "philospher" page... from your journal. I could have written it myself. I'm a chemist, but one who fantasizes about someday writing. You wrote " no one sees this but me and still I am holding back." That's me, too, in my jou nals! It's as if I have a tiny editor sitting on my shoulder while I write, urging me on to a perfection I feel I'll never achieve. Your short story and especially your poem also evoked strong reactions in me as well. I have bookmarked your website, and if I get the courage, I'll e-mail you more of my reactions. For now, I'll just comment that your award for the site is well deserved. I like the design very much.
