Do you oppose the death penalty?

Do you believe in the right to a fair trial?

Do you oppose police brutality or racism?

Do you believe people should have the right
to speak out against injustice?

If you could join with others to do this,
would you?

MUMIA ABU-JAMAL

If you answered yes to any
of these questions, you need
to help take up the
FACE OF JUSTICE CAMPAIGN

against the execution of
Mumia Abu-Jamal.

By joining the Face of Justice campain, you will be taking a stand with people all over the world against the execution of Mumia Abu-Jamal. His case brings together the criminalization of Black men, the suppression of dissent, the expanded death penalty, the gutting of defendant's rights, and the whole
political atmosphere in this country of blaming and punishing those
who are most oppressed. For all these reasons, there has been widespred opposition to Mumia's execution. In 1995 an execution date was set, but a powerful movement forced the government to temporarily postpone their plans to kill him. Parliament members from Japan, France, Italy, Germany and other countries have protested the U.S. government. His case has been taken up from Brazil to Bangladesh. Dozens of famous artists and writers have signed newspaper ads calling for a new trial. HBO and the BBC have broadcast compelling documentaries on the facts of the case. Yet today he remains on death row awaiting the decision from the Pennsylvania Supremem Court on whether or not to grant a new trial. IF Mumia is denied a new trial, Governor Ridge has promised to sign a new death warrant. Right now is a crucial time to step up the fight to demand a new trial. But those who want to see Mumia dead understand this as well. In the past few weeks, a full-paged ad was taken out in the New York Times (paid for by Lodge #5 of the Fraternal Order of Police in Philadelphia); TV news in the San Francisco area was blitzed; and the Philadelphia newspaper articles and talk shows have focused on the case - all attempts to gather support for the plans to kill Mumia. They say that those who are against Mumia's execution don't know the facts of the case, the Face of Justice campaign is here to show how wrong they are. IMAGINE if, in the face of this lie, you were to navigate through the web pages of the Internet and see Mumia's
face on these web pages.
This is the Face of Justice compaign. THE simple act of hanging Mumia's picture on your web site,
together with others, will send a powerful message that
there is strong opposition to this execution. Already,
people have taken up this campaign (and in Philly, many have
taken the real picture and have hung it in their windows).
