Like the picture on the front page? It was done by my friend Andrew, who has stuck by this journal through thick and thin. Be sure to check out his site.
So, when we left off before the kitty picture cop-out entry, I was describing our feud with Aaron. The hostility seems to have cleared up, and Aaron has been (mostly) attempting to rectify his bad behavior. Interestingly enough, however, he lost his job three weeks ago, and hasn't bothered getting a new one. His attempts to secure employment have been hampered at least once by The Sarge's new trick: when she's pissed at him, she'll take his keys with her to work so he can't go anywhere until she comes home. Aaron's situation has gotten so bad that he was talking about pawning his guitar cab for rent money.
I'm trying out something new with Nik. He does some crazy artwork, so to earn some money, he's given some to me to auction off on e-bay. He chose the brush-name of "Jambalaya". No, I don't know why. Hopefully, he'll be able to earn enough to help his family stay financially stable. He spent the night over here, and ended up eating a box of granola bars. This morning, he tried to give us money to pay for the granola bars, but Dirk wouldn't let him. We don't need the money nearly as much as he does.
My mother's planning on getting her own apartment at the end of this month. I told her I'd help her move, mostly because she's giving me stuff and she'll do it whether I'll help or not. She couldn't understand why Dirk wouldn't help her...I don't think she understands that nobody thinks she's doing the right thing here: we're just resigned that it will happen no matter what. She's currently undecided between telling my father in person that she's moving out, and leaving a note. I'm pushing her to tell him to his face that she's leaving him, because it's just too fucked up to just leave a note explaining shit. She protested, saying: "But he'll probably start crying. I don't want to see that." My response? "Don't do this shit, then."
I updated the cast page, and I'm compiling links to update the links page. I hope to completely re-do the bio page someday, but I haven't decided to a style. Also, I'm trying to re-organize this site so it's more compact and easier to navigate (i.e. fixing broken links, etc.).
That's been about it. I've been dedicating an hour almost every night to writing my novel. I took one author's advice, and it has been very helpful: "If you've got writers block, lower your standards." I figure I'll be doing major re-writing when I'm done anyway, so I just need to get this down.
