Happy Anniversary!!! As of today, Dirk and I have been dating seven months!

Krisco's being unusually quiet. I wonder what's going on.

I conned--I mean convinced Dirk to mow my lawn for me. That's what boyfriends are for, right? We spent the entire afternoon doing yardwork, but that was alright, because it was so georgeous outside. I just can't get over the fact that winter's over.

Dirk, Pia, and I went to the carnival at about 6:30. It was pretty rinky-dink, but it had something that made both Pia and I excited as hell: the Zipper. For the uninitiated, The Zipper is one of the world's greates carnival rides. It consists of about 16 cages, well padded, that rotate and spin around this huge metal bar as the bar itself spins in the air. The effect is that you spend a lot of time either upside-down, or just plain unsure where the ground is. You don't get thrown around the little cage, either, because they have a bar that hits you at about mid-thigh, to hold you in place.

While we were waiting for the ride the first time, the operator was trying to air-dry one of the cages, because he'd just washed out the puke. Dirk and I got into one car, and Pia was stuck with some guy from the line named Fernando, of all things. The bar in our cage wasn't padded correctly, so I spent a good deal of the ride in some discomfort.

Dirk didn't like the ride. Pia and I thought it was great. Dirk was so traumatized by the ride, we had to leave the carnival early. I didn't even get to win a gold fishie, like I wanted.

We went to Don Pablos, and when Dirk was too tired to be good company, we brought him home, then went back to the carnival. Pia and I just had to ride The Zipper again. This time, we got to watch as the operator washed out the puke. God, that was gross. We also noticed him running around to pick up the coins that fell out of people's pockets during the ride, and started laughing. He grinned, "Nothing to laugh about, in the past two nights, we made eighty dollars from change that fell out."

When we got on the ride, we were right under the car that had just been washed out (he didn't have time to air-dry it this time), and felt water dripping onto us from it. The ride was better, because both Pia and I love that ride. The first time I ever rode it was about 5 years ago, at The Meadowlands in New York, with Pia.
