THE ROAD TO ASTROWORLD

On the day of her last brother's funeral, a little girl named Suzy decides she has had enough of funerals. She has been to the funerals of two brothers who died violent deaths. This funeral is for Eric her last brother, who has succumbed from AIDS. Suzy is tired of going to funerals. She wants to go to Astroworld--an amusement park with her class. She longs for the world of cotton candy and clowns. Her Mother gives her a twenty dollar bill to take to the store and buy some special roses she has ordered for the funeral. Suzy seizes this opportunity as her chance to escape. She catches the first bus she sees hoping it will take her to Astroworld. Unfortunately the bus driver is a malevolent pedophile who molests Suzy during a violent rainstorm while the bus is parked at a remote rail yard. This forever changes Suzy. Rainy days become her hardest days. As a teen she "pimps" her younger retarded sister. Suzy goes to college with these funds, and she marries a doctor. Her soul however, remains troubled. She murders her child and is committed to a mental hospital. At the Hospital the Head Attendant "Big Fingers" abuses Suzy and the other patients. Suzy eventually befriends two other women. She becomes their "madam" taking charge of the monies they earn from the men passing along the highway that runs past the Hospital. They eventually overpower "Big Fingers" (a surprising revelation too) and commandeer the hospital bus. Suzy finally gets on The Road to Astroworld--the magical kingdom she has longed for all her life.
