Electric Circus

Electric circus
And you're the star turn
Come on down, it's showtime
No need to be concerned
Done with all the talking
Explored all avenues
There's a price to be paid
And the final payment's due

Electric circus
We've saved a seat for you
Take your place, centre-stage
Your performance is long overdue
It may not be a comfort
But there's a lesson to be learned
That if you play with matches
One day you might get burned

Electric circus
Time to settle for your sins
We're all sitting comfortably
Let the spectacle begin
The audience grows quiet
The lights begin to dim
No word from the Governor
But that's his final whim

Electric circus
A lesson has been learned
A victim's death has been avenged
His killer has been burned
So why don't we feel happy
That justice has been done
Maybe it's because we're all victims
And in the end, the system's won
