I scrubbed the
kitchen floor today
On my hands and knees
With vim and vigour, I scrubbed
With passion and with
determination
I wanted it to
shine, you see
I wanted it to gleam and glisten
I wanted people to gasp with
amazement
As they had to don their shades
indoors
I scrubbed the kitchen floor today
It may have taken hours
Costing me blisters, aching knees
and chapped hands
But, flushed with success (and not
just out of breath)
Tomorrow I take on the
bathroom
