On the Edge

On the Edge

Dancing out upon the edge
Complete insanity
No one there to see me fall
Cept God and you and me
Emotions taunt as wires
Suspense as thick as thieves
It's for the things that arent at all
That everybody grieves
Once when I thought I'd lost all hope
Once when I ceased to care
I found myself a dancing
Out in the thin cool air
To briefly feel the freedom
The blessed sweet relief
Of touching not the word of man
Or owning to it's grief
Until the earth reclaimed me
I danced upon thin air
And gloried for a moment
In the things that were not there
Then fell to earth
Much to my dismay
No blinding flash of life gone bye
Upon my eys did flash
And over slightly to the left
A ramp, well lit and labeled
Pointed upward to the edge
Where I had danced disabled
A journey upward
A quick return to grace
Return me to the jagged edge
To again take my place
I danced there for a moment
Pretending to be scared
Then slowly soflty walked away
When I saw No One cared
