Amanda. She's my best friend, and my world wouldn't be the same without her. We have been through so many weird things together, and so many extreme highs and extreme lows ... I honestly can't imagine what I would do without her, and I love her with all my heart.
All my other friends. I'm not going to name everyone, that'd take forever, but - [*points accusingly*] - you know who you are!
The Beatles. Okay, so I've never met them. They've had an impact on my life anyway. They make me think, and they make me laugh, and they make me happy, and they keep me interested and entertained and amused. They aren't perfect, certainly, but nobody is. They're pretty groovy anyway. :)
John Lennon. Could anything be more obvious? I'm a Beatles fan, for pete's sake. John was no saint, but he was a cool guy, and he tried really hard to be who and what he thought he should, and it's impossible to say how much I regret his death.
Janis Joplin. Again - not a saint. But I love her music, and I love her soul. She made an impact, and didn't even get to live to see it, which I find sad - but she's awesome.
The Doors, and Jim Morrison specifically. [This paragraph is under construction until I have time to figure out how I want to say it. :) ]
Linda McCartney. Now, I was never a big Linda fan or anything, and Paul isn't my favorite Beatle, but I do feel very bad about Linda's death. She and Paul were the quintessential romantic couple, and Paul and the kids must be devastated. (Although I have to admit, all this furor about her death now reminds me of the Paul Is Dead rumors!)
The Monkees. Simply put, they make me laugh, and that's one of the most important things anybody can do. I love the TV show, and I love their music. No matter how awful I feel, all I have to do is think about the Monkees and I begin to snicker. This is a good thing. Definitely a good thing. They're like my personal de-stress device. They're fun - and what better reason to put them on the list?
Shakespeare. What else can I say? I mean you all know who he was, and what he did, and you probably have already formed your opinion as to whether or not you think he's cool.
Louisa May Alcott. Don't laugh! The woman was an amazing writer. I love Little Women, but it's not the only thing she ever wrote. She's the coolest. :)
Edgar Allan Poe. Wow - can this man write. He was innovative, imaginative, and intelligent. And quite a writer.
Lewis Carroll. What can I say, I love Alice. Sure, maybe he had a small opium addiction, but look what nifty stuff he wrote! (Just because all of Wonderland sounds suspiciously like an opium dream is beside the point, right?)
I'll be adding to this page as I think of people, or as I get the urge. There are always more people I love, and it's my aim to get them all on this page. (heh heh heh....)
