This month - starring Pitzi and Sholem
Pitzi the bear and Sholem the lady bug are our peace keeping most tender hearted puppets. Sharing a room with my paretents, they make the symbol of harmony in a relationship.
Sholem came to us about teo years ago, a gift from my good friend Danny who met him in some toy store down town. Danny, who was immediatly impressed with the peacful grin on Sholem's face brought him to meet me knowing he will probably have a good impact on my tortured soul (or so it was at the time). Sholem and I got along wonderfully since the first moment we met. He got his name after the sticker covering his price tag stating "shoolam" (meaning "paid for" in hebrew). From that point on, Sholem stayed on, making immediate friends with the rest of the family. A few short months later, Sholem got promoted to a station on my mother's night dresser, collecting dust and being sure to start her days with a warm smile.
Pitzi came to take care of my mother after she got a painful root channel at the dentist. He set by her bed and made sure she was not thirsty or needed a pillow fluff. When she was crying he held her hand and comforted her. His great help during this crysis got him immediate promotion to a bed side puppet, where he and Sholem met.
Pitzi and Sholem were the perfect match. Both kind and loving and small in size, they got togeather very quickly without our knowladge but to our great joy. These days, sharing a place near my mother's side of the bed, they are in charge of collecting dust, keeping coffee hot and making sure no book is closed without a place holder. Three weeks ago, when I had a pinful medical exam, Pitzi stayed with me all night long, making sire I do not need anything.
Togeather they enjoy sports, walks on the roof and reading. Pitzi hopes
to some day open up a book store. Sholem wants to open a day care center
for dust bunnies.
