Storms and Rainbows and
I was there
to love you in your rage and darkness
Now my empty days crawl by
waiting for your liberation
Storms and Rainbows and
I wish we were there
that I could love you in your moonlit glory
To see your almond eyes turn blue
at the dawn of love's fulfillment
Storms and Rainbows and
I will be there
if you will reclaim your own
Tho lonely days for now torment us,
our love still lives in silent waiting
Storms and rainbows and I'm still here.
The Wind in My Face
The heartless North Wind blows
and slaps my face with sleet. "She was just like me." It says
mockingly. "She wont be back. She never loved you. You are history
to her and good riddance man!"
The hot and dry West Wind is
next to mock me. "Behold your future without her." It says as
I look on endless sand. My eyes glance to a dried up fossil, crumbling
with time. The West Wind says, "That's how she sees you but look to
your feet." Swirling there at my feet is a small dust devil. "That's
the dust of the grave. It's all that remains of your tender, sweet love.
That's all she left for you."
As a tear wells up and rolls
down my check it's brine is overtaken by the ocean salt coming from the
Gulf's South Wind. I look and behold a hurricane of confusion and I am
lost at sea. She was my lighthouse but I've lost that light. The ocean's
bottom is no match for the depth of sorrow in my heart.
As I sink in darkness for the
last time I hear the gentle song of St. Ester calling from the east. She
sings of new hope, new birth and she sings a song of lilies in the Spring.
I hear the laughter of the children we planed to have. I see the a lush
green garden where we planed to take our vows and I hear the echo of my
lovers words "You have won my heart, no matter how bad things get,
promise me you'll always know that." I do and will.
