architectural plasterwork finished in stone, marble and verdigris

The theme for this clothing store is classical architectural ornament with a surreal twist. The columns and pediments have been broken; pieces of capitals are piled together and a surreal sky ceiling is breaking out of it's surrounding structure and flooding into the room.

We were responsible for creating the decorative paintwork, including the sky ceiling, architectural friezes, stone, marble and verdigris paintwork. A particular detail is the painted frieze around the sky panel in the ceiling (see bottom of page). The sky is painted in strong colours as it is high above the floor.

A wall at the back of the shop was painted with stone blocking, also in strong colours to be seen from the entrance.
