Pauline is a Mohawk artist who has been creating beadwork since childhood when she learned from older women in Kahnawake. She has created traditional Iroquois raised beadwork and is currently teaching beadwork in Kahnawake schools and at the Kanien'kehaka Raotitiohkwa Cultural Center.

This beaded bag was made to be worn at the annual Kahnawake Pow Wow held in mid July. It features a floral design which was adapted by the Mohawk craftswomen over 100 years ago. Previous to this strong geometric designs were used.

Pauline has crafted many raised beaded crowns for Iroquois dancers and collectors throughout the world. She also specializes in Iroquois moccasins which will appear on this page soon.

This site created by Martin Loft.
