in silence are we born
and so too do we die
and somewhere in between
is where we learn to cry
to laugh and scream
and speak the words
that make it worth the while
though they may burn
and sting our tongue
and leave us feeling vile
in silence are we born
and so too do we die
yet we should not
move thus to death
in silence slipping by
our time is short
and moves so quick
much like a flickering flame
we will not last
but in our stead
we may well leave our name.
