Astral travel is an integrated part of your being (everyone astral travels during sleep). You should not fear it, but rather seek to remember and actively participate in it. The easiest and simplest method of astral travel comes about through deep meditation.
To do so, prepare yourself as you usually would for a meditation, with phone shut off, in a place where you won't be disturbed, with soft background music to mask noise. Choose a comfortable chair, with arms if you feel you might feel you might fall over. I don't recommend lying down since that is a natural position for sleeping.
Astral Travel
During any mediation or astral travel you should begin by visualizing yourself completely surrounded by a brilliant white light for protection. This light also attracts positive entities and repels negative ones while you are out on the astral.
The next step is to rid yourself of negative emotional baggage. One way of doing this is to visualize yourself standing beside a very deep well. Throw into this well all the negative thoughts, events, people, and problems with which you are dealing in life.
The next procedure---relaxation of the total body--may take you some time to learn. Beginning with the feet and working up to the head, mentally tell each part of your body to relax. Spend extra time on the muscles of the shoulders, neck, and jaw, as these areas are most affected by tension and stress. Take as much time as you need to do this, but don't become tense from the work itself.
The relaxed portions of the body will feel heavy, if they have feeling at all, while the consciousness feels very light. Notice while astral traveling that colors appear more vivid and your senses work at a heightened level.
Now is the time to direct your thoughts to a specific place you wish to visit. *It is important that you decide where you want to go before entering meditation You certainly do not want to be wandering aimlessly around the astral planes*.
