CONAN is known as a hero who comes from stories about the ancient times. But he is also a hero of Comic Art too...

Who is CONAN?
He is one of the greatest heroes of the world, based from novels of an American writer Robert Edward HOWARD (1906-1936). I'm not sure, HOWARD might based this character from Ireland sagas. According to him CONAN lived 12000 years before today and 8000 years after Atlantis had sunk. HOWARD named those day as Hyborian Age. He wrote many novels across this theme. Red Sonja, King Kull and Solomon Kane are his some other warrior and mystique characters.

Why is CONAN Different From Other Heroes?
Like most heroes, he is tall, very strong and fights well. But against the others he is not a perfectly good man, he steals, lies, drinks, gambles, makes sex with woman and if he angers he kills persons without thinking. Many times he is the looser at the end of the adventure, mostly the only thing he saves is his life. In these stories he is a barbarian, thief, mercenary, pirate and king but always a warrior and adventurer.

What is CONAN's Relationship With Comic Art?
Marvel Comics gained CONAN to comic art. A great script Roy THOMAS adapted HOWARD's novels and many artists pencilled and inked these scrips. At last a great comic art had born. Unlike many of the other comics CONAN drawn by multiple artists. After Barry SMITH's first fantastic drawings, John BUSCEMA became the main artist of CONAN comics. He pencilled most of classic stories. Alfredo ALCALA, Tony De ZUNIGA, Ernie CHAN, Pablo MARKOS, Gill CANE, Karry GAMMIL, Sony TRINIDAD, Rudy NEBRES, and many other artists finished by inking these drawings.

Who am I?
I'm living in capital of Turkey, Ankara. I like high quality comics. My favorite is black and white ones. I think color decreases the art of comics. I have full set of CONAN collection published in my country but as a reason of couldn't find new books in last 3-4 years (the old ones are repeating continuously) I'm aware of new adventures and artists. I've seen the CONAN movies and TV series. They were not successfully representing the atmosphere and CONAN himself. In my opinion the the comics of CONAN especially B&W ones were great and I made this site to share my opinions with you.
