Michelle's Prom

October 10, 2000
Ho-ly cow, it's been two weeks again! I cannot believe how quickly this is going. It will be all over before we know it. I'll be sorry to see all the planning end, but relieved at the same time! We're down to five and a half weeks now, so it's rapidly approaching!

Last week, Joe and I bought our wedding rings, so that's done. They're really lovely and I can't wait to put his on his hand. Just seeing it there when we were picking them out made me all teary-eyed! We're in the confirming stage with our vendors, making sure everything is lined up. We're waiting for our RSVP deadline date so we can finalize the catering arrangements, but that date is rapidly approaching too! (hint hint)

My bridesmaids are so awesome. I just have to tell you all. Ember, Michelle, Talmar, Kendra and Chelsie have really stepped up to the plate and are helping me in more ways than I can list here. THANK YOU guys for being so wonderful. I couldn't be here - and be so calm! - if it weren't for all of you.

If you're in the wedding party, please keep watching the
wedding itinerary. It keeps changing! You'll need to know what's going on when it gets down to the wire. :-)

I can't believe it's been two weeks since my last entry! Time is REALLY flying by now. We are down to seven weeks, two days. Can you believe that? So how are we doing? We're doing great!

The first wave of invitations went out Monday, that was the big mailing. The second wave went out this morning, and there are only a handful left to be sent. We were very pleased with the invitations, they turned out so well. Of course, the printer couldn't count, and that's why some were delayed while we waited for more envelopes.

We've booked our wedding night hotel and finalized a few more details. All the deposits are paid, except for the flowers. We finally registered at Target! The bridesmaids dresses are all ordered and should be in in a couple of weeks. The parties are starting to be scheduled and we're finalizing the times for everything. And we got our first post-invitation RSVP, from Geraldine Pitts! Thank you! Now I guess we really have to do this. Ha! Seriously, it's amazing. People keep asking me if I'm nervous. No, I'm not. Not at all. I'm stressed out (so many details!) and I'm horribly excited. But I'm not remotely nervous. Why should I be? I'm going to get to enjoy the greatest party of our lives, in our honor. I'm marrying the most wonderful man in the world and embarking on the greatest life journey with him as my partner. It's one glorious day. How can anyone be intimidated by that? So, stick around and watch as I get more and more excited with each passing day!

Yay! Yesterday was another productive day. We're starting to get the hang of this wedding planning thing. First, we met with our DJ. He's awesome. We're going to have a really really good time! Then we went for our nightly walk and discussed a TON of piddly, nagging details. I think we've sorted out some of the stickier issues (timing, rental car, hotel rooms, etc.). That was a big relief.  We did get a gigantic box from the Knot yesterday, too, but I think it's too late to try to change organization systems. Lots of neat-o junk in there though. I highly recommend getting one of your own if you're engaged!

And then, yes, we ordered the invitations! We're so happy, I can't tell you what a HUGE thing that is. It has been bothering me for a while, but we needed some information still, and Tuesday night we got the great big go-ahead, so we went ahead! We have them on expedited delivery, so we should see them next week and get them out (the plan is!) within three days. Kerry will be hand-addressing ALL of them, so we'll see how fast I can write well.

The Wedding Itinerary link is working and I'm updating the online RSVP system. We should be squared away and perfectly set up in no time.

Nobody's signed that Guest Book in a while. Get on in there and do that! We LOVE messages!  And make sure you've checked out our Delphi forum. It rocks. Talk to you soon!

Okay, so our shopping adventure worked! We have beautiful bridesmaids dresses, at last. Chelsie, Talmar, Michelle and Ember all got to try on a million and a half dresses, but it was all for a good cause, right? In the end, and six hours later, we ended up back at Group USA, picking a dress from earlier in the morning. I will scan photos in as soon as I get my scanner functioning again. The shoes are also picked out. I will put a link for them on the Fashion page. They're from Payless, and only $14.99 each! Yay!

Also, I have discovered that the Wedding Itinerary link is not working. Sorry about that. It should be fixed now. Thanks for your patience!

Hello again! So it's been an interesting week, and they're all getting more interesting the closer we get! Yesterday, we got the ring pillow. It is so cute, I can't believe it. We also received the program paper, our pretty personalized beverage napkins, the decorative marriage certificate and our Thank You cards earlier this week. We sent out the newsletter (Finally!) on Tuesday, so everyone should have those now. And I just updated the wedding itinerary.

Of course, Chelsie called me on Wednesday to tell me that that bridesmaids' dresses aren't going to work. Group USA doesn't carry them anymore, can't order them, and basically has no idea what we're talking about. So, we have to find new ones. With two months left. No pressure. YIKES! I'm hoping we'll find it this weekend. My mother is also still looking for her dress. Always something left to do, eh?

Anyway, we're getting there. That's about all I can say. It's rapidly approaching and I'm starting to panic. That's how it goes, I am told, and in the end, it's all worth it. I know it really will be!

Howdy. I just had to write because yesterday was a productive day, finally! I got my shoes in the mail, they're Kenneth Cole "Flower Girl" style, ivory silk pumps with pretty matte silk flowers attached to the tops. I love them. They're slightly darker in color than my dress, but promise me you won't notice!

Last night, we placed an order with CJ Papers, online. We got the cards/paper we're using for our programs, embossed beverage napkins (very cute), and our Thank You cards. We also placed our flower order! We still need to hammer out the details, but the order is placed! Yippee! We're going with primarily red and white roses (6 bunches and 5 bunches, respectively), with three bunches of beautiful dark pink-edged white roses. We'll have stephanotis accents, mostly for my bouquet and Joe's boutonniere, and misty limonium filler and treefern accent greens. I can't wait!

Next? I have to start filling out the cards for the reception place cards. They're going to take forever! We're also looking into our getaway car. Fun
!

Well, there isn't a lot to report. We're ready to order our invitations, but we're just waiting on one decision from my parents. The newsletter has been slow in coming, but it's basically done now. I need to find a place to print them, and then they'll be on their way.

We have paid off the rest of our major deposits and made the honeymoon reservations. We are going to DISNEY WORLD! Yippee! We're staying in the Wyndham Palace, and we'll be there for five days. I cannot wait. Joe and I have printed out all the maps to all the parks already and we're planning what to do when!

I have most of the bubbles done, Chelsie's decorating the flower girl baskets, the ring bearer pillow is at the post office waiting for me to pick it up, I think I found my shoes...

Basically, what we're working on now or soon is: my veil, our vows, the ceremony planning, placing the order for the flowers, the pre-wedding stuff (like rehearsal dinner), the RINGS!, the unity candles, and a few other miscellaneous details. We're getting there
!
