Might Never Know

Poem II

If only they were wise and would understand this and
discern what their end will be!

(Deuteronomy 32:29)

©It Just Makes Me Understand

Hold down the conversation
it's pounding in my head
It just makes me understand
that to live is to be dead

Hold down the whispering
it's pounding at my heart
It just makes me understand
the ending begins at the start

Hold down the humor
it's pounding in my veins
It just makes me understand
that it storms before it rains

Hold down the beauty
it's pounding in my eyes
It just makes me understand
acceptance is only demise

Hold down the perfume
it's pounding in my nose
It just makes me understand
one must die before one grows

Hold down the talk
it's pounding in my ears
It just makes me understand
hate drowns out any fears

Hold down the attack
it's pounding in my mouth
It just makes me understand
north is as far as south

Hold down the body
it's pounding in my fist
It just makes me understand
that the power's in the wrist

Hold down the skull
it's pounding in my feet
It just makes me understand
that sour comes before sweet

But of course you understand
'Cause you never gave me a hand

Poem VII

What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again,
there is nothing new under the sun.

(Ecclesiastes 1:9)

©Nothing New Under the Sun

To have taken any moment's time
leaves me to despair over my crime
I left the story unwritten
And the poems too

But live my life a little more
It's hard to even the score
For in the game they cheated
But that's nothing new

Under the heavens or in the sun
there just seems nothing left to be done
But what is already there
Does one have a clue?
Maybe I'll ask you

Adam the ClueLess

Poem IX

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth.
He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears,
and he will tell you what is yet to come.

(John 16:13)

Whatever the pretense
Though truth is immense
Though critics name it dense
To climb so small a fence

I know it takes obedience
And you may make defense
At such an offense
At such a difference<

Just try to make some-sense

Adam the Truth-Teller

Poem XI

He covers the face of the full moon, spreading his clouds over it.

(Job 26:9)

©Medley: Plea of the UnKnown

THERE'S NO PURPOSE

There's no purpose
Sit beneath a tree
There's no purpose
See if you can see
There's no purpose
You'll never know me

NEVER JUST ONE SONG

Don't you see what's wrong
Never just one song
Just the three I am
While'st the moon says damn
Because it can't know me long
Never just one song

TONIGHT SINGS-SOMETHING-SPECIAL

Tonight sings-something-special
which enlightens night with day
Tonight sings-something-special
so I've something-special to say
Tonight sings-something-special
some-soul-shall help to find my way

DENIED

Clouds that fly by night
Please give me delight
Let the moon shine bright
Giving me the light
Denied without fight

YOU THOUGHT YOU LOVE,
WHAT YOU DIDN'T KNOW

So souls might know me
You read it here
...or perhaps sing
The love you show me
left with a tear
of faults you bring

Did the sun really ever know my name?
Did she even ask?
Did she bother to lie about beauty?
No such a small task
Close your eyes to the night you never see

FINAL PLEA

To the clouds above me,
I plea
with thee:
Take me!
And most of all love me

Adam the Shadowed

Poem XV

As the sun was setting, [he] fell into a deep sleep, and a thick
and dreadful darkness came over him.

(Genesis 15:12)

©Forgotten Dreams of Sunshine

Love has seen the sun
and forgotten all the dreams
of veilded Allison
So realistic her smile seems

Although she smiles like the sunshine
it's not like the light
wakes the knowledge she's not mine
That's when I lose sight

Damn this pretty painful painting
of friendship talking together
not knowing that the sun's waiting
To end happiness forever

Lift this boy-in all his sorrow
with some sort of sunshine
that might await him tomorrow
So some sort of sun's mine
