Seven of Nine
Jeri Ryan is the actress, who stars in the UPN 44 television program, Star Trek: Voyager. I hated and resisted this show for the first three seasons, but "resistance is futile" against the powers of Jeri Ryan's borg-babe charater, Seven of Nine.

I resisted the show for good reasons. I was so burnt out and sick of the Star Trek: Next Generation and how unemotional, military-minded the characters were. My sister's love for both shows only confirmed my suspicion the Voyager was just as bad as Next Generation.

July 5th of 1997, while my family moved everything from our old home to our new house, I was left alone in our empty new house with only a television with no programs and a VCR with only videos of every episode of Star Trek: Voyager I had never seen. I figured, "What the hell, there's not thing else to do." I started into the middle of one of the seasons, when the Voyager ends up on earth in the nineties. I enjoyed it so much for it's total lack of predictability.

I poured through all the tapes and had to confess to my sister that had been right all along, Star Trek: Voyager really was a great show. Kess, soon became my favorite charater on the program for her gentle manner and hair cut that only reminded me of my friend, Esther.

Kess became one with the universe and they replaced her character with Seven of Nine, a borg that's slowly turned back into human. Essentially, Seven is the dead-pan, unemotional character found in every Star Trek series, like Spock of Star Trek and the Data of New Generation. What's better about Seven, then past Star Trek characters is that she's an all-out babe. She's so unhuman in her social interactions that it's only the cruelest joke of every quadrant in the galaxy that no one can get anywhere with her, physically.

Seven's beauty is only one element to the intrigue of her character. Watching her process of developing more human traits is interesting, along with her comical interactions with other shipmates.

Jeri Ryan has appeared in other television shows. She played on Sentinel and in Melrose Place as Matt Fieldman's soap opera star boyfriend's lesbian co-star. Matt's boyfriend is forced to marry her to get better ratings for the show. Of course Matt didn't like that at all. Neither would I, because Jeri Ryan is one hot momma.
