She cries herself to sleep
one more night.
Sharing her tears and fears 
with a ragged old bear.
Her closest confidant
he doesn't tell.
He listens and he holds her
with warm brown eyes.
The only one she trusted in her life
he remained thru every goodbye.

His patience does not wear thin
unlike his fur.
He collects her tears
and her every word.
His love is unconditional and true.
He remains her source of comfort 
and her symbol of trust..
Her tears soak his form
and his soft heart breaks for her
for he is just her ragged teddy bear.
