Michael Matthews

Michael Matthews (14K)Michael Matthews (b 1961) formed Dasart in 1992. He resides in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

A consistent theme running through Michael's work is fragmentation and discontinuity. The pieces are generally constructed out of metal but various other materials like old cardboard and burst tyre sections are allowed to breed within the matrix of collage, thus creating thick surface skins.
