JFK,Jr.

1960-1999

Goodbye, John, Jr.

The world was watching you since birth.
You once lightened our sorrow when we hurt.
You made us smile while our eyes were teary
That awful day in November Nineteen sixty-three.

We saw you grow up and it was a pleasant treat really.
You were special yet you remained amazingly ordinary.
You had everything, name, looks, health, and wealth.
Yet you were one of us, just by being yourself.

You grew up to be a man of grace and honor, like no other.
Our hopes were up that you would give history a colorful chapter.
You shared your wealth to those who did not have it.
You gave away your free time eventhough you only had a bit.

One dark night in July Nineteen ninety-nine,
Nobody knew that it would be your last as there was no sign.
In the most tragic way, you just disappeared into the sky.
The reason why you took such risk, nobody will know why.

Now our hopes, our dreams, our fantasy are gone.
As we mourn for the loss of a man many called America’s son.
Thanks for touching our lives with all the things that you’ve done.
We will never forget you, go rest in peace, John.
