I, Ng Yiu Tong, of Yuen On Li of the 2nd Administrative Area of Sheung Pine Heung of No. 1 District of Toi Shan County am the maker of this Deed of Gift of my own son. I Have many children and do no have sufficient food in my home for their maintenance.

I consulted with my wife and we were willing to give our second son Ng Chok Chau, aged 10, born at the Hour of Yan on the 26th day of the First Month, to some one as a gift.

(We) first of all asked our relatives (if any of them wanted to have him, but) none of them wanted to take him over and rear him. Later, through the introduction of a gobetween, Wan Luen Ching of Ng Chak, Mr. and Mrs. Chan Kwok Yiu of Sha Po Li, 5th Village of On Po Heung, Ki Ling Po, of this District (came) and agreed to take him and rear him and adopt him as their son and heir.

(He) is not taken away to work as a slave and he shall not be tranferred to others. A sum of JMP 5 Million Yen was to be paid (to us) and it was expressly stated among the three parties and agreed between the two parties that on the date hereof the price should be paid in full to me, Ng Yiu Tong and my wife. (We) have received it for our use and the son, Ng Chok Chau is today given personally (by us) to Mr. and Mrs. Chan Kwok Yiu to bring back to their home to be brought up by them.

In future when he grows up and marries and becomes rich Chan Kwok Yiu shall enjoy the happiness which shall be of no concern to me, Ng Yiu Tong. He is given away as a gift permanently and (we) will not cause any trouble nor demur nor want to redeem him. If he dies both parties shall resign themselves to the loss.

This is an open presentation and open receipt, and there is no question on kidnapping or repayment of any debt. If there is any unsettled matter the giver and the gobetween shall settle everything, which shall be of no concern to the transferee. As proof is desired, this deed of gift is made for evidence.
