Duncan MacLeod Goes to the DMV
by Laura F. Schomberg

Duncan looked at his watch for the tenth time in as many minutes.  He looked toward the front of the line to see if it had moved.  It hadn't.  Over 90 minutes had passed since he first stepped into this line.  In all that time Duncn figured that he had only moved two feet closer to the counter.  There were still fifteen people in front of him.

Impatience was blocking Duncan's thoughts.  He had scheduled this appointment for 11:00.  It was now 1:45.  Tessa had probably left the resturant by now.

<So much for getting together to plan Richie's 18th birthday party>

Suddenly Duncan pulled out his kantana and tapped the shoulder of the man in front of him.  The man turned, saw the sword, and backed out of Duncan's way.  Then Duncan tapped the shoulder of the next person in line,
who also moved away.  In less than two minutes Duncan was at the head of the line.

Duncan inwardly chuckled at the look of shock on the DMV employee's face.  He smiled and said, "There can be only one."
