Outcome:

The hippies were a counter-culture group who were dissatisfied with modern society. Better educated and more free-thinking than their parents, they questioned the social and moral views of society. They experimented with new forms of music and fashion. The Vietnam war became the focus of their disillusionment with society. Though today we remember the funny clothes and music, they were a very influential movement. They helped us change the way we live and think. They helped make being different more acceptable. Though things like communes usually failed, they at least tried to find different ways of living. And they did, in the end, help end the Vietnam war. The final outcome of the hippy movement, in fact the whole counter-culture movement, was that the world really is a better place.
