I pray that each of you will draw some meaning from the “Hourglass” that may shine a little hope into your lives and for the understanding of patient endurance through the years of your trials. For me, in the outstretched hands of time, that I might share with one and all, in voice of whispered sands . . . comes rhyme, a glorious season to befall . . . And ere your winter woodland’s snow, To all your flowered field a bloom, Though chill and frost and wind may blow, Let spring within thy heart resume . . . To make you smile ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Amen |
There’s an hourglass on the mantle That’s been my dearest friend For only God and time do know Their powers that they mend As I, with every breath I take Have found it all so true With every feeling thought you send I give them back to you To make you smile |
=> |
I’ve carried with me always A dream or two you see And though it may seem childish Such dreams have rescued me From all the weakest moments That tried to steal my soul Because I knew that you believed That I would find my role To make you smile |
There’s an hourglass on the mantle That has a voice to say With such the softest calling With me to always pray That I would find you once again Before it is too late But my patience seems to wear so thin It is my heart that breaks To make you smile |
=> |
But patience has so taught me Of time . . . We should not fear For those who do believe in God He wipes away our tear And if every waiting hour grows The nearer to your touch Then I will wait a lifetime A dream I love so much To make you smile |
There’s an hourglass on the mantle I’ve been watching day by day From sunrise of the morning Till it sets . . . This prayer I pray That somehow through this darkness Because you were the one That you would find this message Before my life was done To make you smile |
=> |
One day the rain had fell so hard And the sun had lost its rays But I knew that of these moments They are Thy teaching ways That we should never lose our hope Whatever it may seem And still you send your Angels That guide us through a dream To make you smile |
There’s an hourglass on the mantle Each grain of sand I knew Between the orbs of Light and dark On mounted wings they flew An Angel sent for every seed To guard us through all time To help us with our every need To gather hearts to rhyme To make you smile |
=> |
And then one day the Angel came And took me by the hand To share with me a secret That was buried in the sand I cried out to the Heavens And thanked our God for you If even for a moment He made my dreams come true To make you smile |
There's an hourglass on the mantle So dear, so dear to me That holds a grain of meaning Between the land and sea A divider for God's children For minds who understand Of He . . . with time and patience Does share His love so grand To make you smile |
