The Sword of Truth
Before
you gather words so near
To spread
across the water’s face
Hold fast the powers they embrace
And kiss this Sword with Godly fear
The edge that
strikes both left and right
Unto the soul that it may kill
Unto the soul, yes it may heal
Please understand before you fight
This knowledge
found beyond the veil
Well meant for you to shine, to
yearn
Is balanced for the poor to learn
The Hand that equals out the scale
Now placed above the
Garden Gate
To guard the
path, to be a shield
How great it’s shadow in the field
To all those destine of its fate
For if one
falters blatantly
To crush thereof beneath his feet
The rose . . . then turns to bittersweet
And depth of thorn is felt in thee
So how do we,
mere men on earth
Who find the treasures of Thy Word
Then speak of all our ears have heard
And keep forever our new birth?
As once my eyes
and heart did read
Corinthians, the second book
Chapter twelve : verse seven took
Me down the path that Paul did bleed
We shall not seek for days on end
These questions
near our inner man!
Reveal . . . You will so if we can
Receive Thy grace as we have sinned
Amen
